Recount

Recount is a pretty good film, certainly worth one late night watch on HBO, primarily based on its casting, which is exceptional.  Moves along pretty well, smart in that it stays out of the way of showing the candidates themselves, and Laura Dern is awesome, glad to see her, she's always been in interesting movies.  I didn't watch it last night, as I was busy flipping channels, but I saw that it was on last night.

My own recount is as follows:

"Obama." check

"Over 300 electoral, maybe 320." check, sort of, no credit because well under-called, expect it will end up at an official 364 count via NC.

"52.5% of popular vote."  check.  Did you know that as of this writing votes are still being counted?  3% are missing.  With that said, the official count now is 53.1% of the votes cast between them, and 52% of total votes.  I'm pleased with myself on this call.

"Most votes in favor ever."  check.  Beat Bush 08 by a million or so votes.  Hard to believe that essentially as many people voted for Bush four years ago as did vote for Obama now.

"Not 60 senators, more like 58."  check, sort of.  Coleman (by 700 votes out of nearly 3M) and Stevens (how did that happen?  This election has opened the eyes to Americans that Alaskans really aren't just like you and me) are going to hang on.  Only OR left to call.  So the count is probably 57, BUT that includes Lieberman.

"Big pickup in House, +20."  check.  +18 with 8 undecided.

Today's great not good song of the day:
